Scripture & A Snapshot {Week 24}

Every time my children color with crayons they inevitably spend an equal amount of time removing the wrappers. One afternoon I noticed several crayon wrappers on the table, empty yet perfectly shaped.

Crayon Wrappers

They reminded me of how many people live seemingly perfect and beautiful lives, but when you take a peek inside that life it suddenly seems hollow and empty. The perfect wrapping fools us for a short while. But it never fools God.

Empty Wrappers

Then there are the "naked" crayons. They bare all their bold color with careless abandon. It is these crayons that remind me of the people who truly have Christ. They are solid - even if they've been broken. They don't try to cover up who they are, and they are filled with a vibrant and pure beauty that reflects what their Creator intended.

Bare Crayons

Entering into this fullness is not something you figure out or achieve. It's not a matter of being circumcised or keeping a long list of laws. No, you're already in—insiders—not through some secretive initiation rite but rather through what Christ has already gone through for you, destroying the power of sin.
Colossians 2:11

Want to join in this challenge?
Here's how to participate:

1. Select a scripture.
My hope is that each week you will search your Bible and select a verse that has meaning for you.
Here's a link to a good Bible verse search engine.

2. Add a photo to it.
I hope that you will chose a photo that goes with your chosen scripture, and not just throw these two elements together. The photo can be from your archives or a new shot. Please only use your own photos. You can have the scripture on your photo, below it, make a collage - however you want, as long as the two elements are together!

3. Put the Scripture & a Snapshot button in your post.
You won't be deleted or banned if you don't. It just helps spread the word...and the Word. ;)

It also helps visitors from the blog hop quickly identify your Scripture & a Snapshot post.

4. Come back here and link up your post.
Please link directly to your Scripture & A Snapshot post, not the home page of your blog.
