Beautiful Me

My sister is visiting from out of town this weekend, we're currently getting some much needed rain, and sis and I are heading out soon to bargain shop. {without kids!!}
It's going to be a fabulous day.
I hope you have a fabulous weekend as well!

Sunflower

This was the one lone sunflower we saw at the farmstead on Thursday.
Being that the sunflower is Kansas' state flower, you'd think there would be more of them.
{thankfully, I've just been told my BIL - who is a farmer - has planted sunflowers again this year as crops. ...enter excited giggles!}

And I threw this one in, too.
I absolutely love it, but can not figure out why I love it as much as I do...
Perhaps it's the contrast of the organic shapes from the sunflower against the geometric shapes of the barn??

White & Purple Daisies
I meant to get a couple more posts up this week, but Thursday came...and brought strep with it.
I'm feeling much better now that I have antibiotics...still not 100%, but getting there!
Those other posts will make their appearance sometime this week.
***
Whenever I'm out shooting flowers, I always find myself drawn to perennials.
They have history and if they could talk, oh the stories I'm sure they would tell!
But sometimes I find myself taken by an annual.
When I saw these white and purple daisies, I was in heaven!

Rose in the Raw

This is actually a rose - it's just had its petals plucked off.
But I think the rarely seen details have a unique and beautiful quality.
This bare flower reminds me of the amazing love of God; that He would give such beauty to hidden things! And it makes me wonder what is hidden in the rest of us that is even more beautiful!
