This was the one lone sunflower we saw at the farmstead on Thursday.
Being that the sunflower is Kansas' state flower, you'd think there would be more of them.
{thankfully, I've just been told my BIL - who is a farmer - has planted sunflowers again this year as crops. ...enter excited giggles!}
And I threw this one in, too.
I absolutely love it, but can not figure out why I love it as much as I do...
Perhaps it's the contrast of the organic shapes from the sunflower against the geometric shapes of the barn??

I love it as well!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully golden yellow! Hope for more of those :-)
ReplyDeleteWhen we drove through Kansas last week, the sunflower fields were brathtaking.. I was never in the right position to snap some shots and hubby was not pulling over..LOL
ReplyDeleteoooooh, that's amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love! But I love sunflowers...keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful soft processing of these magical flowers. I've been waiting in anticipation of all the sunflower photos to come - I love them. Sadly, I won't have any until late August . . .
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. The flower center in the first shot is so captivating. I was staring at the texture for a few seconds and I got dizzy.
ReplyDeleteI love sunflowers. Yours is especially striking.
ReplyDeleteThey're both beautiful. But I agree: the lightness and color of the flower contrasted with the dark tones in the second photo really makes it for me.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I love sunflowers too, but it will quite a while till they bloom here! We always get a few volunteer that come either from hte year before or just from the bird feeders, so I don't even bother planting any, any more!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! So cheerful and bright! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are both very pretty! Very summery. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Sunflowers!
ReplyDeleteI agree - there's something really striking about that second shot!
ReplyDelete(we don't have to know why, we can just love) ;)
such a happy feeling ... yellow
ReplyDeleteI love them both! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sunflower! I love the light center of this one as it shows so much detail.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, simply beautiful. :) Made me smile.
ReplyDeleteWow - hopefully 'wow' encapulates what I mean - a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL shot.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love sunflowers. I love the softness of your color on this one.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful sunflower and now I can't wait to see some of your BIL's too. They have such detail to capture.
