I knew when I was shooting this hyacinth that I wanted to create an image with a painterly feel.
So I shot it with a soft focus, but then added a Gaussian blur and increased the purple hues.
It is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! The color is so soft and just brings out the softness of the flower even more. Smart thinking on taking a soft focus shot to begin with. I must not know how to do the blur thing real well because mine don't seem to work like that.
Interesting special effect. I just got back from the Baltimore Inner Harbor. Took lots of photos I'll be posting starting today and throughout the rest of the week. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Katie!
ReplyDeleteI love your creativity! I never would have thought of doing a soft focus on anything. It makes the piece very abstract.

I like it! Hyacinths are hard to photograph and this is a very nice treatment :)
ReplyDeleteKatie it's just gorgeous! It's a very cheery shot for spring.
