Scripture & A Snapshot {Week 30}

Bridge

Show me the right path, O Lord;
      point out the road for me to follow.
 Lead me by your truth and teach me,
      for you are the God who saves me.
      All day long I put my hope in you.

-David

Psalm 25:4-5 (NLT)

Then he told them what they could expect for themselves: "Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You're not in the driver's seat—I am. Don't run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I'll show you how."

-Jesus

Luke 9:23 (The Message)

Jesus never said we are to live easy lives. "Take up your cross and follow me" does not sound like "put your feet up, relax and enjoy the in-flight movie."

Life is not a luxury cruise.
I don't know anyone who's path is perfect, without pain or without sorrow.

But the eternal life that awaits those who believe in Christ will be worth the wait and worth traveling down that path, no matter the price.

Want to join in this challenge?
Here's how to participate:

1. Select a scripture.
My hope is that each week you will search your Bible and select a verse that has meaning for you.
Here's a link to a good Bible verse search engine.

2. Add a photo to it.
I hope that you will chose a photo that goes with your chosen scripture, and not just throw these two elements together. The photo can be from your archives or a new shot. Please only use your own photos. You can have the scripture on your photo, below it, make a collage - however you want, as long as the two elements are together!

3. Put the Scripture & a Snapshot button in your post.
You won't be deleted or banned if you don't. It just helps spread the word...and the Word. ;)

It also helps visitors from the blog hop quickly identify your Scripture & a Snapshot post.

4. Come back here and link up your post.
Please link directly to your Scripture & A Snapshot post, not the home page of your blog.

  7. That is so beautiful, it looks so aged and worn. Gorgeous photo. I love how it shows that the right path isn't necessarily the glamourous one.

  10. I like the way The Message translates that verse. So often, we want to be in the drivers seat.

    Great photo and verse.

  11. Hi Katie

    That road can sure be rough at times but He's already prepared the way before us and all He requires is our trust in Him. Lovely message today and it relates so well to what I've posted aswell. Oh how the Lord works!

    Blessings to you and yours this Palm Sunday,
    Rosie

  15. What a beautiful bridge. It is amazing how one path can look so beautiful in life, but if it is not the one to walk down it can turn ugly mighty fast. What a great verse.

  19. Katie,
    To know His path is to know peace. But when it comes with the suffering, it's hard not to want to run away. Thanks for the encouragement. Needed that today.
