And I'm not talking about a Bachelors of Science.
One of the first and most important lessons I learned in art school is that art is 90% BS and 10% Skill.
...let's take a moment and let that really sink in...
90% B.S.

90% B.S.
What a revolutionary thought!
{even if a little crude}
As long as you know the basics for your chosen medium, you can pretty much fake the rest.
I find that liberating!
As long as you know the basics for your chosen medium, you can pretty much fake the rest.
I find that liberating!
Let's use this photo as an example.
It was the first time I'd ever done any kind of photography with oil and water. I barely knew what I was doing....about 10% worth!
But I don't necessarily have to share that bit of info...even though I just did...let's forget I said anything.
Instead I can bypass that unsavory tidbit and give you 10 reasons why I love it....and why you should too.
Now, that's not to say everyone will love everything you've made...but we'll get to that tomorrow.

I could see that an art is really all in the eye of the beholder so it is art no matter what. I think this picture is really neat! It kinda trips my eyes out which makes it more interesting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo and very bright, I love those beautiful bubbles.
ReplyDeleteI need to learn to believe in my B.S.ing a little more.
ReplyDeletehahaha I love this! It is BS. But, don't give away all our secrets. You can also call it genius : ) But I suppose that would be pride, and God's not too pleased with that. Hahaha. I'm looking forward to your posts it will be fun. And also trying out some of the ideas you come up with.
