Hello and welcome to the first installment of Project Pinterest,
hosted by myself along with the super awesome and funny Sarah of It's on the Tip of My Tongue!
We are addicted to Pinterest.
And we know we're not alone!!
But what happens to so many of us?
We get stuck in a rut of pinning thousands of awesome things, and then we never get around to making or recreating them.
That's what Project Pinterest is all about; motivating you to do those crafts, poses, recipes, whatever...and then share it with the world.
For my first project I upcycled an old cheese grater into an earring holder.
It's perfect, really.
And I half suspect this gadget's true purpose was to display funky jewelry.
{This is the original one I saw on Pinterest}
My costs were as follows...
Cheese Grater - $0 {I actually had an old one on hand!}
Krylon Spray Paint in glossy Blue Ocean Breeze - $6 {approximately}
Grand Total: $6.00!
~~~
1. Decide which pin on Pinterest you’d like to recreate.
2. Create it!
3. Flop or success, create a blog post about your re-do and include the original pin’s url.
4. Add the Project Pinterest button to your post so others can join in too!
5. Link up and check out other bloggers’ posts!
That is great Katie! I see cheese graters like this at thrift stores all of the time. Looks like the perfect way to store and display earrings, especially since I recently got my ears pierced again!
ReplyDeleteKatie, thanks for hosting this. What a fun idea to encourage one another to create!
ReplyDeleteI totally love the blue color you chose. It is perfect!
That is genius...I know what my sister is getting for Christmas. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat project.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had more earrings to put on one of those - what a "grate" idea Katie :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday, Katie! You're welcome for the PP advertising =) -- and Shelby and I LOVE your earring organizer. Brilliant. Thanks for the sweet comment to her. She's enjoying her 20 minutes of "fame." LOL
ReplyDeleteOK... so you don't sand down those sharp edges or anything? I thought of doing this for my daughter when I saw you posted it, but I'd be worried about the sharp edges. But it would be so cute in her room...
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll stick with a screen in a frame.
How cool. I need to find a cheese grater.
ReplyDeleteNow that is sooo cute! Hannah will be in love. I'm so getting on board with this pinterest thing. I just have to. Right?!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! Rosie, great comment and YES Jenn you MUST get on Pinterest...
ReplyDeleteKatie, I love this idea and I am enjoying following you on Pinterest!
Very cool! I love the color, too. Don't make me have to get on Pinterest. I haven't caved yet. I am dragging my feet as long as possible.
