Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Side Lighting
While I was shooting for my Lesson in Aperture post, I decided that the side lighting coming in from our front door would be perfect for this! Then I ran an old photo action on it to add some mood.

Jack O' Lantern
These are ones the kids decorated the other day. We were not in the mood for carving and gut removal since we were having guests that evening, so permanent marker sufficed!
(My kids are 4 and 2, by the way!)

Faces Formed in Nature
This tree is at the end of our driveway and there's one part where a branch was cut off that now looks like an eye. I personally think it looks a little like the eye from Lord of the Rings. Creepy.
I did do some editing to bring out the eye shape, but it's pretty close to this in real life.

Sunset
This is one from the archives. I took it last year with my point & shoot. Aside from the noise, I think my camera did a good job. I used a Sony Cybershot which I highly recommend if you're in the market for a P&S camera, since you can change a lot of the settings to manual mode.

Warm
With winter quickly approaching, these will be common things that keep me warm: a handmade throw and a delicious cup of coffee!

I absolutely second the Sony for a P&S. That's what I'm using right now until I can decide which brand I want for a DSLR (Sony or Canon; still on the fence on that one).
