Just Another Day

B&R-Watching-Workers

One morning, on our off-day from preschool, we heard a lot of big machines and trucks outside.
So we investigated...through the front room window.
Turns out, there was a water leak somewhere along the pipeline and the crew was getting to work on it.
The kids loved watching all the cool vehicles dig and move, and they liked watching the men get into the giant hole.

It was a pleasantly surprising event to watch on a gloomy day!

I know this is ridiculously blurry, but I love the background and colors, so that's why I'm sharing this shot...plus, nearly all the leaves have fallen off this tree, so retaking it is not an option.

Sweet Shot Day

The theme at Simplicity this week is 'daydream' - I was really at a loss for an awesome interpretation of that. So I chose this image.

  1. Those are lovely Katie especially the leafy one. My boys when they were younger would have been glued to the window aswell. What a beautiful colour of leaf colour you have at the front of your house - is it the same tree as in the 2nd shot?

  6. Anything to keep the kids occupied!

I like the traffic lights, sometimes I daydream at traffic lights and I am abruptly taken out of my dream by the car behind me!

    Take care. xxx

  7. Katie, big trucks and cool diggers are a momma's peace on some days...especially when they're near the house, near enough for the kids to be safe and momma to have a moment of refresher. I really like the second shot, regardless of blur...I think it creates a mystery, a beauty of colors, too. Sometimes, we need to step outside of what we think we should be and just be :)

  8. The stoplight photo is simplicity itself. I love it!

My daughter runs to the window every time she hears the garbage truck. It just fascinates her. Go figure.

  14. Sometimes the children are so easy to entertain. Great capture. I really love the second shot. It really doesn't have to be that crisp since the color is so vibrant. The last, simple shot is just perfect.

  22. Great series! I especially love the story behind the first and agree with the 2nd - sometimes you just like what you got even if it's not "perfect".

  24. I love your take on day dream. It reminds me of hearing a horn honk that brings you back to reality and you realize your still sitting at a light after it has turned green. Perfect.
