After:
Boy, I messed with this shot forever! I don't think I've ever edited something so much, as far as adding textures and overlays is concerned. But, sometimes you just feel like making art, and for me that's usually more of a discovery than a plan.
I use PSE 8 and did the following:
Step 1: Crop
Step 2: Adjust levels
Step 3: Added a bokeh overlay set at overlay and opacity at about 75%.
Step 4: Added a concrete grunge texture set at overlay.
Step 5: Erased texture and bokeh from flower with 80% opacity.
Step 6: Added an old photo border (from brush set found on deviantart.com)
Step 7: Added an old photo texture (found on deviantart.com) set at overlay and opacity at about 90%.
mmmm... definitely art!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I would say whatever time you spend on this was worth it! You have indeed created wonderful art! Man that would make for some beautiful cards! AWESOME job!
ReplyDeleteGreat processing! I could spend hours just editing photos and adding textures. I really like this!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the border you added. Thanks for the links too...I look forward to checking them out!
ReplyDeleteThat texture is stunning! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI like both... but the edited one looks like it needs to be on a greeting card of some sort. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day
Beautiful edit...real art!
ReplyDeleteYour comment is so right...when I start being artistic, I don't always know where I'll end up but this turned out quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like it. I usually wind up adding so many layers and then removing them as necessary. I am such a layer freak. :-) I like it though. I just put my Before and After up and guess what I barely edited it!
ReplyDeleteI like it. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow! That's awesome! Thanks for leaving links to the things you used...I'm clueless but motivated to try now!

ReplyDeleteI love this Katie - sometimes I go mad on layers aswell and it's great fun seeing what it turns out like. I love the painterly effect you have created with the flower. Verbena bonariensis is a favourite flower of mine in my garden. :)
ReplyDeletewow, that fist shot is stunning. I took a look at your other posts and I really like the perspective that you take on your photos. A very unique angle or perspective to them. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJealousy has offically set it. LOVE this!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a drastic edit! I like what you did with it; but I also love how you captured the details in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love that extra edited shot. It definitely a post card print. Beautiful!!
