"He is the one to whom we are accountable."
This verse is a really powerful one for me. It causes me to envision myself standing before Jesus. And I sometimes worry about what He'll say. Will He say "Great job, Katie! You've really made me proud with all you've done in my name!" or will he say "Katie, Katie, Katie. I gave you so much potential and you didn't even use it."
This verse makes me realize that I should worry infinitely more about what Christ thinks of me, than what my peers think of me.
When I'm standing before God as He recounts my life, I want it to be a life He's proud of.

Very thought provoking Katie - those thoughts that I have too.
ReplyDeleteI love what you shared here. So true! A verse (along the lines of not worrying about what others think) that the Lord has impressed on me this year is Gal. 1:10.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great mini-sermon! :)
ReplyDeleteOff and on though this last year, I've been hit with the same thoughts - am I really doing what I should be doing - and what God wants for me? Do I have the right motivations behind this? What is God going to say to me when I meet Him at the judgment seat? Will I get the "well done, thou good and faithful servant"? I think it's always good to have these reminders - to bring us back to where we should be.
:)
Whoa! What a verse!! It kind of broke my toes I think. :) Well, if the verse didn't, you sure did. GREAT thought to think on!!
