Scripture & a Snapshot - Week 72

ephesians-4-29

I don't know about you, but sometimes my mouth can get me into trouble.
...the things I sometime say about people, the things I sometimes say yell at my kids, and the attitude I can get when I'm tired or frustrated or overwhelmed.

I need this reminder that what I say really does matter.
It affects my family and friends, as well as myself.

And I must remember each and every day to only use words that will bless and not hurt.
I want the things that come out of my mouth to be like this rose in full bloom with its pleasing fragrance...not when it has become decayed and rotted.

Want to join in this challenge?
Here's how to participate:

1. Select a scripture.
My hope is that each week you will search your Bible and select a verse that has meaning for you.
Here's a link to a good Bible verse search engine.

2. Add a photo to it.
I hope that you will chose a photo that goes with your chosen scripture, and not just throw these two elements together. The photo can be from your archives or a new shot. Please only use your own photos. You can have the scripture on your photo, below it, make a collage - however you want, as long as the two elements are together!

3. Put the Scripture & a Snapshot button in your post.
You won't be deleted or banned if you don't. It just helps spread the word...and the Word. ;)

It also helps visitors from the blog hop quickly identify your Scripture & a Snapshot post.

4. Come back here and link up your post.
Please link directly to your Scripture & a Snapshot post, not the home page of your blog.

  3. My verse is from Ephesians this week, too, Katie. I used black and shadows. It was refreshing to come see your pink and such an uplifting way to remind us of such an important principle.

  6. Katie,
Your photograph is beautiful, and the scripture is so true. I love what you wrote. So many times I have to remind myself to speak life over a circumstance and be careful with my words. I am joining you for the first time today. Thank you for hosting a beautiful reason to celebrate scripture and photography.

  7. That is beautiful. I can totally relate--I get a little feisty sometimes. Would love a little more graciousness to replace some of the zing of my words. The Lord gives us all our personalities, but I believe he also loves it when our love for those around us rouses our desire to let kindness win the day.

  10. Ouch! I needed to hear that. I hope you don't mind, but I downloaded it so I could print it out and put it on my typing stand. A reminder to keep my tongue in check. Have a good week.

  12. Love the photo! (Got here by one of the participant's code - I might join in during upcoming weeks!) But I wanted to say I am in Texas too, and saw how you just recently moved here. I'm in the Fort Worth area, so glad you are in this great state...we are "naturalized" Texans, moving here from the Midwest 30 years ago! Anyway, love the site and the link-up! Blessings!

  13. Words we say are being mentioned all over the blogs lately. Perhaps God is trying to speak to us. I love what you wrote too. Sometimes our words can be so hurtful.

  14. Oh yeah - I have to remind myself of this one pretty often. If it's not helpful, then why say it.
